It’s almost summer and with the good weather comes good times, with family, friends and even just a relaxing rest by yourself and our QFamily has the perfect summer suggestion for you. As a small business, we love supporting other small and local businesses wherever we can and this year we’re supporting all the lovely families down at Barwon Heads, our favourite beach getaway spot.
Barwon Heads is a gorgeous spot to go surfing, swimming, wind-surfing, scuba diving, sight-seeing, golfing, hiking or just to be in nature and feel the wind in your hair and the sand between your toes. Being in Barwon Heads connects you to Australia and shows off all the wonders without being overrun and urbanised like you’d get at St Kilda Beach or even the Geelong Foreshore. You get some peace and quiet and the homeliness of being in a family-run and family-centric little beach town.
There’s a range of beautiful places to stay in Barwon you’ll always find us at 19W Loft Barwon Heads Luxury Accommodation, a gorgeous apartment styled to perfection by the @19w_barwonheads team. Right in the centre of town, only a few minutes walk to the beach and a view to die for, these lofts are the epitome of luxury, a little haven of opulence found right in the middle of the humble quaint and classic small Australian community.

You’ll find Rigby’s with everything from candles to picnic blankets where you’ll have trouble walking out with only just one bag, where the staff make you feel like family and you know you’ll be coming back. Then stopping at Ten Thousand Things will fill your pockets with trinkets and wonders that you can’t find anywhere else, handmade crafts and beautiful crystals and jewelry will fill you make you feel like royalty.
After treating yourself to toys and trinkets and all sorts of your favourite things, you’ll spot across the street the stunning and alluring Annie’s Provedore, stocked to the roof with all kinds of beautiful local produce and a range of exquisite wines, jams, cheeses, crackers and more. Not only will everything in there grab your attention but you can’t leave without sitting down for a beautifully made meal or drink under the string lights and lucious plants.
If you’re feeling guilty about enjoying your holiday while your friends and family are grid-locked in Melbourne feel free to pursue the range along Hitchcock Avenue to bring back a gift that’ll make them feel even more envious. And while you’re on your way back to the beach feel free to stop in to Leafy Greens, Barwon Heads Sweets Shop or Natural Edge Living, where every stop you take you’re supporting small businesses whilst enjoying yourself, finding goodies and having great connections with the local community as well.
