Valentine’s Day Gift Guide – Staying Eco-Friendly

When treasuring your loved one this Valentine’s Day we are here to help you treasure the environment too.

February 14th means spending time with your soulmate, whether that’s a dinner date next Monday, a weekend getaway or even in the hardest of situations a very long phone call. While we have plenty of recommendations for a getaway, we also have recommendations for your presents and everything about them.

If you’re still to get a present with the time counting down we have a few life saving ideas for you. To keep the environment in mind, we urge you to avoid wrapping paper and ribbons in all shapes and forms. The small action of using materials already available to you does make an impact when we all are in it together. We spotted a gorgeous video on how to wrap presents without wrapping paper or gift bags that we have to share and you can show your partner that you love them and you love the environment simultaneously (a very romantic and impressive move).

However if you’re yet to have bought a present, and with the time counting down, we have a few exceptional recommendations. To begin with our sister brand has all the eco-friendly, natural, romantic, gorgeous present ideas ready to go. Start with a coconut candle or some heart-shaped bowls to rekindle your romance filled with all sorts of chocolates or berries.

If you haven’t had the chance to buy and it’s looking too late to find an eco-friendly alternative, we have some incredible suggestions. Vouchers are a great alternative to regular gifts that they may not like and may become material waste. However some see vouchers as impersonal, so we have a solution. Instead of a a voucher, you need to dress it up, hide vouchers in a bowl of flowers or give it to them as a weekend away, a voucher to a store they love but the terms and conditions you set are that it must be spent with you while you’re away enjoying a sunny shopping trip, or make it a location based voucher, perhaps for a local business on a coastal town.

Alternatively to a shopping voucher is an event ticket, this is a favourite because you create memories on top of the romantic reflection on that valentines day. Our suggestion is to avoid same-day events, make a plan for the future so you can still have a romantic evening that seems to never have an end. Whether it’s as simple as a booking for a painting class accompanied by many glasses of wine or it’s something rarer and unique like a handcrafted ring making class or a class of Kintsugi the japanese art of repairing broken pottery and creating new beautiful pieces.

Whatever you do ensure that you do everything in your power to physically show that your love is as powerful as ever, after the past few trying years, it’s important to prioritise your loved ones, no matter the cost.
